About MAES

The College of Agriculture and Natural Resources at the University of Maryland is one of the leading programs emphasizing the impact and relationship of the urban environment on agriculture and our natural resources.

With an ever expanding urban population, competition for land and resources is continually increasing. Can harmony exist between an expanding population and the need to maintain agricultural production and protect our natural resources? The College of Agriculture and Natural Resources says "YES." We are meeting these challenges with an outstanding faculty devoted to solving problems of state and regional concern.

With approximately 115 faculty located in five on-campus departments and 4 Research and Education Centers along with another 300 extension faculty throughout each of Maryland's counties and Baltimore City, we provide cutting edge research and information to our citizens.

We hope you will take the time to learn more about our College and the many benefits we are capable of providing. Please contact my office or visit one of our county outreach offices to learn more about the exciting programs in the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources.
