The 214-acre Lower Eastern Shore Research and Education Center'sPoplar Hill Facility, is primarily used to evaluate agronomicsystems, which help farmers of the Eastern Shore become moreefficient with inputs for increased profits, production, andenvironmental safety. Information from research and extensionprojects is shared with the public at our two annual twilight fieldtours. The small grain twilight tour is held in mid May and theCorn and Soybean twilight tour is held during the first of August.The last few years both of these crop tours have been held duringlate afternoon - early evening hours. Departments using thefacilities at Poplar Hill include Natural Resource Sciences andLandscape Architecture, Biological Resources Engineering,Entomology, as well as research scientists and technicians fromUSDA at Beltsville, MD. This site has cooperative studies with theUniversity of Delaware.
